[Idea] Tabbing between windows in hackmud
zvbcht
It would be cool if you could press Tab to change where you are typing e.g. Pressing Tab while the flashy cursor thing is on the Scratch pad, would move the flashy cursor thing to the chat window Terminal -> Scratch -> Chat -> Terminal -> etc if this gets added, Shift + Tab would be neat too -- Thanks

Tab is for autocompletes. Some other key should do this (i'd prefer hot keys for separate windows. i.e. ctrl/cmd-1 for main window, ctrl/cmd-2 for chat, ctrl/cmd-3 for scratch )

ooohhh ye completely forgot about auto completes

I want window switching, too. It was suggested that tab could switch when the shell command line was empty. I'd like to stay away from specific hotkeys for windows, because the ui will be switching to more flexible less defined in the future.

Personally, I disagree, but I also tend to use computers differently to most. For me, cycling + dynamic = massive headache. cycling only makes sense when things are fixed and you know there's a fixed order like chat > shell > scratch > chat. Dynamic stuff is why you want fixed 'this hotkey always goes to chat, no matter what', because then you never have to think about what is where, you just know that this key will take me to chat, wherever it happens to be and wherever I happen to be right now. That said, this does remind me of a thing I've been meaning to post.
