Hey @toaster--
There are a lot of reasons this could be happening:
- You are in corp and someone was hacking this npc at exactly the same time as you, and it disappeared before you could get to it.
- You are in a scam script and someone is messing with you.

in all cases, there are many more npcs out there waiting for you to hack.

If I recall correctly, those npcs rotate in availability. They aren't all available at all times.
